Hydrangea Bloom 11x14 70.00

This painting was an experiment in technique using a product called z-gel. After painting the bloom with oils as usual and allowing drying, I applied a milky finishing product that I picked up an art show. The cloudy substance dried to clear, hard finish and gave the painting an antique, crackled look.  Clearly not for every painting; however, the look is unique and compliments some paintings. On this one, I like it.
